The importance of Body Composition
The Importance of Body Composition
Differences in the size of the #skeleton and in the proportion of lean body mass can contribute to variations in #bodyweight among individuals of similar weight. For example, brawny #athletes can be classified as overweight, because excess muscle mass, not fat, increases weight.
In other words, people can have the same weight, height, sex, and age, but with completely different #bodycomposition. Only weight and height measurements are insufficient to diagnose and direct the #patient's treatment over time. Therefore, knowing your patient's body composition will allow you to have a more accurate diagnosis and treatments, generating the results you both are looking for.
